Chris Hemsworth’s House: Where Does Chris Hemsworth Live? The Thor Actor, Wife Elsa Pataky, 3 Kids Stay In Sydney

Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky have moved from Byron Bay to Sydney where they currently live with their three children.

Chris Hemsworth is one of the richest and highest-paid actors in the world.

His wife is also an actress and a model. They have three kids and they all appeared in Marvel’s Thor Love and Thunder.

Many fans would want to know where this lovely Hollywood family lives and more about their life aside from their profession. Read on to find out more about their current residence and their old properties.

Where Does Chris Hemsworth Live?

Chris, with his wife and children, used to live in Byron Bay, Australia but now resides in their $30 million mansion in Sydney, news.com.au reports.

Both she and her Thor actor husband are working on films at Sydney’s Fox Studios, with their children India Rose, 8, Sasha, 7, and Tristan, 7 attending school in the city. The move is only temporary while Pataky shoots Netflix film Interceptor (with Hemsworth as the film’s executive producer) and Hemsworth continues work on Thor: Love and Thunder, the source added..

“Byron has been beautiful,” she said of the family’s life in Broken Head, where they live in a mega-mansion worth an estimated $30 million.

“We made the right decision in 2014 to leave LA and come to Australia – it’s been great for the kids to be in nature, enjoy animals and go horse riding.”

Pataky, 44, and Hemsworth, 37, led the charge of stars descending on Byron Bay from LA, with the former Home And Away actor later saying he felt “suffocated” by his career while based in the epicenter of showbiz.

“You’re a little bit too much in the eye of the storm when you’re living in Hollywood,” he told GQ last year of the move.

“Living in Australia, it’s also easier to detach myself from work – and you get a bit more leeway to let a few emails and phone calls slide on by.”

Elsewhere, he told The Daily Telegraph he grew tired of not being able to switch off from his projects.

“When you’re suffocated by the work, every conversation that you’re having and every billboard you’re seeing is to do with a movie or whatever around the industry. You lose perspective,” he told the publication.

The beachside paradise long beloved by holiday-makers experienced a sudden surge of interest last year, with locals in the northern NSW town complaining that the town is struggling to cope with heavy traffic and packed restaurants.

The town was thrust into the global spotlight when Hollywood star Zac Efron looked to be settling in after meeting his new girlfriend, Byron local Vanessa Valladares.

He’s joined high-profile residents including the Hemsworths, Isabel Lucas, Elyse Knowles, and Olivia Newton-John, along with A-list visitors like Matt Damon, who flew to Australia in January for work on Thor: Love and Thunder with Hemsworth.

Chris Hemsworth and his family

Chris Hemsworth used to live in Bryon Bay, Australia.

They moved into their sprawling mansion in 2015 and lived in Los Angeles before this. Although he works in Hollywood, he likes being able to separate himself from the hustle and bustle of the industry, which is why he settled down in Australia.

They’ve become the unofficial faces of Byron Bay over the past few years, but now Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky have swapped the blissful beach lifestyle for the hustle and bustle of Sydney.

Speaking to The Sydney Morning Herald over the weekend, Pataky opened up about the relocation, revealing the biggest downside of the city change.

“I can’t dress down as much as I do in Byron Bay, (but) we hope to get back there on the weekends,” she told the publication.

To the Hemsworth family, Byron is the Utopic beauty that emancipates them from the star-studded glamour world of Hollywood. In fact, the couple wanted to move from LA to Australia so that their kids could live closer to nature, and enjoy the animals and horse rides.

Even Hemsworth shared that living in Australia allows him to detach from work. When in Byron, he doesn’t have to be the epicenter of showbiz and can relax.

In an interview with a leading publication, Chris confessed that he was losing perspective in LA. He felt suffocated as every conversation he had or billboard he looked at was about work, work, and only work.

Moving to Byron is a decision he was proud of. The place truly makes him and his family happy.

Chris Hemsworth’s Mansion in Byron Bay – Inside Details

With an estimated net worth of $130 million, it’s no surprise that Hemsworth lives in a luxurious mansion.

Chris Hemsworth’s residence is so extravagant that even Thor, the superhero he plays on screen, would be stunned. Built on the expansive 4 hectares of land, the luxurious mega property not only boasts a rooftop swimming pool but a huge outdoor living area and an indoor spa.

The construction of the mansion took about three years to complete and had neighbors complaining that it was inappropriate for the area. But things are all cool now. The Hemsworth clan is enjoying every bit of their time here.

The house comprises world-class amenities such as a personal gym, an entertainment room, a spa, a game room, a rooftop swimming pool, and more. Check out the inside details below:

Six Bedrooms

Chris’ Byron Bay mansion only has six bedrooms. But don’t be fooled by just the number because each is palatial in both size and sight. Apart from Chris and his wife’s luxurious modern master bedroom, there are three separate bedrooms for the little Hemsworths and two guest bedrooms. Given the 900 square metres area of the house’s interior, we can only imagine how resplendent a sleepover at Chris’ would be.

Personal Gym

This one’s pretty obvious. There’s no way Chris Hemsworth would have that ‘hot bod’ without slacking off in the gym. He loves to stay fit.

In fact, both the mister and missus are heavily into sports and maintain a healthy diet. If you go through their social media accounts, you’d see that they’re always encouraging fans to stay fit. Chris even owns a health and fitness app, ‘Centre’, that aims to help people reach their fitness goals.

Entertainment Room

Media or entertainment room is something we read about in every article on celeb homes, whether it’s online or in a magazine. And, Chris Hemsworth’s house is no different. While in our wildest imagination, Chris may sit to critique his own movies in his swanky media room, we are sure he has a gala time watching his all-time favorite reels in there and having the perfect family time.

Spa

A spa in the house? Now, that’s what’s called a dream life. Equipped with a steam room and a team of personal staff to provide massages and treatments, it is one of the resplendent areas of the house that, no doubt, adds to this ultra-modern mansion’s exotic appeal.

Game Room

Chris, along with his brothers Luke and Liam, has grown up playing games. A game room in his Byron Bay home is a tribute to those days. It’s also a great area for his children to bond. Apart from Xbox and Playstation, this room comprises various other games for both children and adults.

Rooftop Swimming Pool

The enormous rooftop of Chris Hemsworth’s home dawns a gorgeous 50m infinite pool. Offering mesmerizing views and the best leisure area to escape the heat of Australia, after the spa, this is the highlight of the mega property. The Hemsworths spend the most time in this area during the kid’s summer holidays.

Firepit

There’s also a manicured lawn in the Hemsworth mansion coupled with a firepit. We think it’s an amazing feature to have, especially since theirs is a family of five. Chris’s parents, brothers, and their respective partners also visit them often, making this place even more perfect for drinking wine and toasting marshmallows.

Hemsworth put the stunning Malibu mansion he shared with his wife Elsa Pataky on the market for $4.9million after moving to Bryon Bay, Australia.

They reportedly originally purchased the canyon property for $3.45 million after Chris announced he was moving to his home country due to feeling “suffocated” by Hollywood.

The Marvel star, 37, and the 44-year-old Spanish model packed up with their three children and now permanently reside in Byron Bay.

However, Chris and his family used the Malibu abode for their California escape until listing the four-bedroom, four-bathroom residence this week.

The 1.25-acre property sits in the popular celebrity neighborhood of Point Dume.

With contemporary details throughout, the box-like cement estate boasts over 4,600 square feet.

Concrete floors, wood doors, bright white paint color, and high ceilings complete the modern feel of the home.

A minimalist living room is centered around a custom-built fireplace with in-unit shelving mounted to the walls.

The action hero’s former pad also had a library to relax with sat right off of a purple movie theatre room.

Chris and Elsa’s master bedroom included a luxurious marbled bathroom, relaxing soaking tub, double-sized steam shower, and a boutique-style walk-in closet.

The space opened up into its own private courtyard that included a freestanding sauna.

Their formal dining room hangs off the side of the large kitchen – which opens up onto a dining terrace with a built-in barbecue station.

An outdoor fire pit with an array of concrete seating sits on an elevated perch with gorgeous mountain views.

Large glass walls make for an easy transition from indoor to outdoor space.

The mansion has multiple terraces – including one that is multi-level and hangs over the beautiful gardens.

Past the plants and rollings hills, the Pacific Ocean can be seen from a far distance.

Chris’ listing came months after news broke he was building a home in Australia right next to his brother, Liam.

Aside from his residence, the A-lister is currently gearing up to appear in a new documentary, Shark Beach, which premieres Monday, July 5, and will follow him on a journey to question how humans and sharks can live harmoniously together.

The Hemsworth brothers are putting dual mansions on a 35-acre site in Byron Bay – nicknamed Hemswood Hills – after the famous actor siblings.

The site was purchased by The Hunger Games star, 30, and Chris in 2019 – and aerial pictures showed construction was well underway.

Chris moved to the eastern coastal Australian town two hours south of Brisbane in 2015 with his family.

He shares a daughter India Rose, seven, and twin sons Tristan and Sasha, five, with his wife.
