Ellison reportedly described the opportunity as “too cool of an opportunity to let go.”
Over the next two years, Ellison rose to the rank of CEO and said the stint offered her insights into how companies work.
She said during a podcast interview in 2020: “Once you are like one of the few people in a small start-up, you realise that there are a bunch of decisions that have to be made, and someone has to make all of them.
“And a lot of them are like really uncertain, which is kind of terrifying.”
The Stanford Alumnus, who later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2016, also spoke of her love for reading, especially the Harry Potter books.
She later admitted that she never thought she’d go into trading.
