Richard Tyler Blevins, more commonly known by his online alias “Ninja” has made a name for himself as an American internet personality, streamer, and professional eSports player.
Born in Grayslake, Illinois, to Chuck and Cynthia Blevins, his father Chuck introduced him to video games at a young age, and he has been active in the gaming world since shooting to fame in 2011.
Recently, fellow streamer IShowSpeed accidentally leaked Ninja’s private Discord server filled with major streamers and even A-List celebrities, forcing the Fortnite star to “nuke” the channel.
But most of his fans want to know more about his personal life, like, who he is married to and if he has any kids. Here’s more.

The saying, “Behind every successful man, there is a strong woman,” rings incredibly true for streamer and professional eSports player, Ninja.
Yes, the internet personality has been married once to his wife, Jessica Blevins, a fellow gamer and internet celebrity.
At the age of 26, the YouTube star tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Jess (as she likes to be called).
Jess, who started playing games at an early age with her brother, met Ninja in 2010 at a local “Halo” tournament.
At the time, she was dating a fellow gamer who was competing in the game alongside Tyler who was at the time a student at Silver Lake College.
Ninja on the other hand was in a relationship with a gamer whom Jess had met before in one of the tournaments.
“I thought Tyler was super cute, so I went up to [our mutual friend] and I was like, ‘Hey, you know, how’s it going?’ And then he introduced me to his teammate.” But at the time Tyler had a girlfriend and Jessica was fresh out of her own relationship, so the two “just kind of stayed in touch, but we didn’t start dating then,” Jessica says.
When Jess and Tyler became single after going their separate ways with their ex-partners, the two made contact occasionally, usually through Facebook, and a few years later, Tyler wished Jessica a “Happy Birthday.” She tweeted at him, not sure he’d even see her message — “he had, like, 1,000 followers,” she says.
But, “he responded, like, within a minute, tweeted me back and then followed me,” she says. They exchanged phone numbers, started talking every day, and were dating within a month. That was 2013. A year later, Jess had graduated from college and she moved to Illinois to live with Tyler. In August 2017, the two were married in a private, traditional ceremony in northern Illinois.
When Jess and Tyler first met, she says, he was far from the esports superstar he is today. He had just started making his living as a professional gamer about a year earlier. “He was just, like, a kid that was good at ‘Halo’ and probably had a future in it. But, he wasn’t anybody in the community yet,” Jess tells CNBC Make It.
The duo has been married and stayed scandal-free online.
In 2022, many fans speculated that the couple may have split but it was indeed a departure in Jess’s role in Tyler’s life as his manager.
Who is Jessica Blevins, Ninja’s wife?
Jessica Goch Blevins is an influencer in her own right with nearly 900,000 Instagram followers, more than 500,000 followers on Twitter, over 500,000 Twitch followers, and close to 200,000 YouTube subscribers.
She doubles as a streamer, notable gamer, and entrepreneur who owns several different businesses including her own public relations team.
Affably called Jess, she is the former manager and current wife of Twitch star, Tyler Ninja Blevins.
Born and raised in northern Wisconsin, Jess started playing “Mortal Kombat” on Sega Genesis with her older brother at an early age.
She and her brother played “Halo 3” on Xbox 360 in high school and Jess kept playing when she went to college.
On August 1, 2019, Blevins left Twitch to stream exclusively on Microsoft’s Mixer platform. His wife and manager Jessica told The Verge that the contract with Twitch had limited the ability for Ninja to grow his brand outside of video gaming and that because of the state of Twitch’s community, “it really seemed like he was kind of losing himself and his love for streaming.”
Blevins participated in the second season of the Fox reality music competition The Masked Singer as “Ice Cream”. He was voted out after his first performance to Devo‘s “Whip It” and Lil Nas X‘s “Old Town Road” and thus forced to be unmasked. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Blevins said that he accepted an invitation to participate since his wife was a fan of the show.
In August 2018, Blevins stated that he does not stream with female gamers out of respect for his wife and to avoid rumors such streaming could create.
Why did Jessica Blevins’ step down as Ninja’s manager?
Jessica Blevins, the woman behind Ninja’s astronomical success stepped down as his manager in October 2022.
She managed him for seven years, helping him achieve levels of mainstream fame and recognition previously unattainable to Twitch streamers.
One of her major reasons for stepping down as her spouse’s manager was revealed in a statement when she said she was “ready for my next chapter.”
In the Spotify podcast interview, Blevins stated that she wanted to grow her brand alongside Ninja’s.
“I have a PR team. I signed with CAA. Before, I was focusing on Tyler, so now I’m focusing on my brand simultaneously,” she said.
Before stepping down as Ninja’s manager, Blevins took legal action against fellow streamer, Pokimaine for defamation due to speaking out against JiDion, who was banned from the gaming platform.
