Internent celebrity IShowSpeed’s Instagram account has unexpectedly vanished from the Meta platform. Was he banned?
Famed YouTuber and social media personality IShowSpeed (real name: Darren Jason Watkins Jr.) has made a successfull career on the internet.
He rose to fame in 2021 for his dramatic outbursts and meltdowns on stream.
Just like many who gained popularity from the internet, Speed’s fame has always come with its drama and controversies which has often led him to faces disciplinary actions from platforms.
Currently, both his main and burner accounts on Instagram have suddenly disappeared from the image-sharing platform leading many to wonder what actually happened. Here’s what we know.
What happened to IShowSpeed’s Instagram account?
Fans of IShowSpeed, who is best known for his hot-headed online persona, are noticing his Instagram accounts have mysteriously disappeared.
His fans who first noticed his inactive IG accounts took to Twitter (now called X) to share the screenshots of the verified account with millions of followers giving an error response.
When the link to his Instagram is clicked, the following message appears, “Sorry, this page isn’t available. The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed.”
The reason behind this feedback is unclear at the moment.
However, it could be that his pages have been seemingly taken down by the platform or he has deactivated the account himself.
It could also mean that the platform has taken actions against him for something he may have done which violates the policy. Considering his past controversies, however, many have assumed it to be later.
There have been reports online that he was banned by the platform, though these have yet to be verified or confirmed by IShowSpeed.
This wouldn’t be the first time IShowSpeed has lost access to a platform, earning himself multiple suspensions from YouTube and permabans from both Valorant and Twitch, per Dexerto.
As to why he would have lost his Instagram accounts, that remains to be answered. Certain speculation implies IShowSpeed may have been banned for political comments, but these claims remain unproven at the time of writing so be sure to take them with a grain of salt.
